Stamford's SoundWaters To Host Panel On Climate Science Education

STAMFORD, CT — SoundWaters, the Stamford-based nonprofit that protects the coastal environment through access, education and connection, will host a panel discussion on Connecticut’s new state standards for climate science education, which take effect this coming July.

The event is scheduled for May 15 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Cohen SoundWaters Harbor Center in John J. Boccuzzi Park.

Panelists will include Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero, state Rep. Corey Paris (D-145), Ridgefield High School science teacher Arlyn Kilduff, and SoundWaters President Leigh Shemitz.

The conversation will be moderated by Ira Flatow, the host of National Public Radio’s popular Science Friday program.

The event will conclude with a Q&A session for the audience followed by a brief reception.
