State Rep. Corey Paris, Of Stamford, Selected For '20 Under 40 Leadership Award'
The award annually recognizes the outstanding work of 20 up-and-coming elected and appointed officials from across the country.

STAMFORD, CT — The Council of State Governments has selected state Rep. Corey Paris (D-145), of Stamford, as a 2023 recipient of the 20 Under 40 Leadership Award.
The CSG 20 Under 40 Leadership Award annually recognizes the outstanding work of 20 up-and-coming elected and appointed officials from across the country who not only exemplify strong leadership skills but have also demonstrated a true commitment to serving the citizens of their state.

"I'm deeply honored to receive the 20 Under 40 Leadership Award from the Council of State Governments. This recognition emphasizes the importance of servant leadership, and I'm committed to continuing to serve the people of Connecticut with dedication and passion," Paris said in a news release. "Our state's future is bright, and I look forward to working tirelessly with my colleagues for the betterment of all residents. Thank you to CSG for this prestigious award and to the people of Connecticut for your support."
Paris was selected because of his commitment to public service, ability to engage with officials across party lines, and exceptional leadership, a news release said.

"While the outstanding state officials recognized by CSG this year come from diverse backgrounds, different political parties, every branch of state government, and every region of our country, they share the same commitment to serve others," said David Adkins, CSG executive director/CEO, in a news release. "They are hard-working, visionary leaders whose passion for public service is producing results for their states. I marvel at all they have achieved, and I look forward to watching their impact grow even greater in the years ahead."
Paris will receive the 20 Under 40 Leadership Award at the 2023 CSG National Conference this December in Raleigh, N.C.
"We are honored to highlight the important work of this year's 20 Under 40 class members supporting the citizens of their states," added Lorna Patches, CSG deputy director of membership engagement and leadership development, in a news release. "Their efforts serve as inspiration for leaders across the nation."
