Stolen Firearm Seized, 2 Arrested In Stamford: Police
Officers arrested two Stamford men and seized two firearms, one of which had been reported stolen, according to police.

STAMFORD, CT — Officers arrested two Stamford men and seized two firearms, one of which was reported stolen, Sunday evening. According to Capt. Richard Conklin, city Narcotics and Organized Crime officers received information around 10:30 p.m. that Brandon Turner, 25, of Stamford, was driving a 2015 Kia Optimum and carrying a handgun.
Conklin said Turner is prohibited from owning a handgun due to a prior conviction. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Officers stopped the car near West and Baxter avenues and found Turner had a loaded handgun in the waistband of his pants, Conklin said. Officers later discovered the gun had been reported stolen in 2016, Conklin said.

Turner was charged with theft of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.
According to Conklin, a passenger in Turner's car who is also not allowed to possess firearms was found to have a loaded handgun in his pants pocket. Conklin said James Johnson, 23, of Stamford, was also charged with criminal possession of a firearm.

"This was nice proactive work by Narcotics and Organized Crimes [officers]," Conklin said, "removing two illegal firearms from the streets."
