Suspect Nabbed with 'Facsimile' Gun at Stamford Town Center: Report

STAMFORD, CT — Police chased a Norwalk man - who was armed with a "facsimile" firearm - through the Stamford Town Center Wednesday afternoon before tackling him in an elevator, reports the Stamford Advocate.
Police said the incident began to unfold at about 5:15 p.m. when the department was notified about a man seen in the mall carrying a concealed firearm. Officers spotted him on surveillance video and moved in to apprehend him, but he ran off.
Officers then tackled him in one of the mall's elevators where a struggle ensued before he was taken into custody, according to the publication. Details of the weapon were not immediately available.

Arrested was Mohmed Boumazzourn, 29, on charges of reckless endangerment, carrying a facsimile firearm, breach of peace and resisting arrest. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Thursday.
