Suspected Drunk Driver from Stamford Is Arrested in Greenwich

Greenwich Police arrested the motorist after he failed field sobriety tests.

Greenwich Police arrested a motorist on a driving under the influence charge after investigating a report of a possible intoxicated driver near Byram Park on Ritch Avenue.

The man was described as having an odor of alcohol and admitted to police that he had been drinking when he was stopped just before 7 p.m. May 17, according to a police report.

The driver, identified as Samuel Gonzalez-Guiterrez, 44, of Manhattan Street, Stamford, also was described as being “lethargic, unfocused and unsteady on his feet when exiting” his vehicle and performing field sobriety tests that he failed, according to the report.

Gonzalez-Guiterrez also was ticketed for operating a motor vehicle without a license. He was released on a $250 bond.
