Teen Ejected From Truck During Crash In Stamford: Police

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Police are investigating a crash that left a 14-year-old Stamford resident in critical condition. Officers responded to the area of Webb's Hill Road around 4:17 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash with a person bleeding in the street, police said.

When officers arrived, a 2005 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck was found laying on its side, according to a statement from police. The driver, who was identified as Donald Berrios-Ruiz, 18, of Stamford, was outside the vehicle and did not appear to have suffered any major injuries, police said.

According to police, the vehicle's passenger, a 14 year-old Stamford resident, was ejected from the truck during the collision.

"[The passenger] was initially transported to Stamford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but his medical condition continued to decline," police said in a statement. "He was later transported by helicopter to Yale-New Haven Hospital in critical condition."
