Undercover Operation Yields Prostitution Arrests in Stamford
Cash, condoms, card keys were confiscated when the pair of suspects was arrested Friday night at a Stamford hotel.

A Stamford hair cutter and a woman are facing prostitution charges following an undercover operation by Stamford Police who were investigating an escort service based on the West side of the city.
“We got intel during another investigation about an escort service. We got a phone number that came back to Connecticut Asian Escorts located at 188 W. Main St.,” said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
“An undercover officer with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Task Force made a call, posing a businessman who would be traveling to Stamford who wanted to make an arrangement. He spoke with a man named Kevin who sent him photos via email of a number of women available,” Conklin said.

The men arranged to meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hotel Zero at 909 Washington Blvd. in room 304, according to Conklin. “The officer meets with Kevin who said the young lady was in the shower. They discuss money and various sex acts that would be performed. The officer gave the signal and back up officers entered the room.”
Police arrested “Kevin” who actually is Otis Campbell, 39, of 11 North St., Stamford, and charged him with promoting prostitution and conspiracy of promoting prostitution, according to Conklin. Campbell was found to have $1,953 cash, 22 electronic card keys to rooms in various area hotels and a box of condoms, Conklin said. His bond was set at $25,000.
Also arrested was Aishah Muhammad, 30, of 85 Barbour St., Hartford. She is charged with prostitution, promoting prostitution and conspiracy to commit prostitution. She was released on a promise to appear March 20 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
“This was a very active operation we broke with these arrests,” Conklin said. He added, that Connecticut Asian Escorts was “just a phone number that was located at Sanyo’s Hair Design at 188 W. Main St. where Campbell is a haircutter.”
