STAMFORD, CT — In honor of Black History Month, the cit of Stamford and its community partners will be hosing a couple events this month.

Wednesday Feb. 15, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Location: Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St.
This panel discussion will be moderated by Yolande Ford, LCSW and Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion at United Way of Western Connecticut and Stamford Cradle to Career.

At this event, attendees will learn about the resources and ways to cope and heal from racial stress and trauma from the perspective of three panelists: Dr. Tichianaa Armah with Community Health Center; Lorenzo Colón Munroe, LCSW with The Center for Wellbeing-Centro Bienestar, and Ashley Carr Hampton, LCSW with Domus Kids.

Stamford Black Excellence

Sunday Feb. 19, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Location: Boys & Girls Club / Yerwood Center, 90 Fairfield Ave.

At this event, there will be special Stamford guests and residents who have made and are making significant contributions to Stamford. The program will be filled with musical and dance performances woven between the stories about the community from youth to elders.
