Walk-In Permitting Hours Announced At Stamford Government Center

STAMFORD, CT — The city of Stamford is now offering walk-in permitting hours in the fourth floor cafeteria of the Stamford Government Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, May 24
  • Wednesday, June 7
  • Wednesday, June 21

Residents can walk-in and ask questions regarding residential and minor commercial projects such as food businesses, cosmetology, barber, and retail food establishments.

This time is solely intended for residential and small commercial projects such as opening a business, modifying a space, or adding an accessory.

"The permit process can often feel complicated and overwhelming," said Mayor Caroline Simmons in a news release. "One of my priorities is to make our permitting process easier and faster for residents and businesses. These dedicated times will provide residents with an in-person opportunity to receive hands-on guidance as they navigate this process."

Residents are encouraged to complete the following questionnaire prior to visiting.

"With these walk-in permitting hours, we are mandating that every city department have a representative available to offer in-person services to homeowners and small businesses,” said Matt Quinones, director of operations for Stamford, in a news release.
