Water Infrastructure Work Scheduled For Woodland Avenue In Stamford

STAMFORD, CT — Aquarion Water Company announced on Monday that a water main replacement project is scheduled to begin Aug. 18 on Woodland Avenue in Stamford. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September.

The project, which will replace approximately 770 feet of water main, is part of an on-going program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water, the utility company said in a news release. The infrastructure upgrades will also help to reduce leaks and water main breaks that can cause service interruptions.

"We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project," said Justin Xenelis, Aquarion’s manager of utility programs, in a news release. "We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and city officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions."

Due to construction, customers should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during the working hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Westport-based A.J. Penna and Son Construction will be serving as the contractor for the water main replacement project.

Weekly project updates including construction status, work schedule and changes in traffic patterns and detours will be posted on Thursday evenings on the city of Stamford website.
