WEATHER UPDATE: National Weather Service Says It'll Be a Snowy Start of Spring in Stamford
It looks like snow will be falling just in time for the Friday evening commute.
It looks like it will be snowing on the first day of spring. The National Weather Service is predicting that 2 to 3 inches of snow will fall in the area on Friday just as spring officially arrives at 6:45 p.m.
The snow is expected to begin by Friday afternoon — right in time to impact the evening commute, and continue into early Saturday. Up to a few inches of heavy wet snow accumulation is possible.
The exact amount of accumulation is still debatable, however, on Wednesday the National Weather Service offered its first prediction on snowfall accumulation. The good news — the snow shouldn’t stick around too long — temperatures for Saturday are expected to hit the 40s.
