Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

The popular game show is being taped in Stamford and will be holding contestant auditions; seeking studio audience members.

Area residents will be able to test their trivia prowess and see whether they have a shot at becoming a contestant on the popular game show ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ that’s now being taped at the Connecticut Film Center in Stamford.

‘Millionaire,’ with new host Terry Crews, is searching for contestants and enthusiastic audience members for the 2014-15 season, which premieres in national syndication on Sept. 8.

Auditions will take place on Aug. 15 and Aug. 18 at the ‘Millionaire’ production offices at Connecticut Film Center, 300 Stillwater Ave., Stamford. Testing will occur on both days at 5 p.m., 5:45 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Audition space is limited. There are no sign-ups and admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The show also is seeking audience members who also will have the opportunity to win some cash. In addition to ‘Millionaire’s’ question-and-answer format for the show’s contestants, three special mini games allow audience members to step up to the podium as well to participate in ‘Thousandaire’ and new games ‘Fastest Feet’ and ‘Team Millionaire.’

Audience members also can throw their hats in the ring to appear as contestants on a future edition of the popular game show, with the opportunity to audition while they’re at the studio.

Tapings will take place Aug. 23 through Oct. 26. Tickets are free, and can be requested from the show’s website, http://millionairetv.dadt.com/tickets/. Audience members must be at least 18 years old.

‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ offers a $1 million prize to every contestant. Since ‘Millionaire’ debuted in 2002, contestants have won more than $80 million. ‘Millionaire’ is produced by Valleycrest Productions Ltd. and is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television.
