Woman Killed In Car Crash On I-95 In Stamford: Police

A Waterbury woman was killed in a car accident Sunday morning after she drove down the wrong way on I-95, police said.

STAMFORD, CT — A Waterbury woman was killed and two others were injured in a car accident on Interstate 95 in Stamford early on Sunday morning, according to the Connecticut State Police.

Police said the accident occurred around 2:45 a.m. Sunday. Cynthia Teran, 39, was driving a Toyota RAV4 northbound near exit 7 on I-95 in the southbound lanes when she collided head-on with a Dodge RAM pickup truck, driven by Jose Landaverde, 51, of Central Falls, RI.

Teran was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Landaverde and Carlos Solis, a passenger in the pickup truck, were taken to Stamford Hospital with minor injuries.
