Beloved Ice Cream Shop To Bring Historic Site 'Back To Life' In Mystic

MYSTIC, CT — Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream is planning to expand its operations.

"We wanted to set the record straight—we purchased the Old Mystic General Store, located in the heart of Old Mystic, and are excited to bring it back to life in our own Mystic Drawbridge way," the ice cream shop posted on Facebook. "Renovations are already underway, and while we don’t have an exact timeline just yet, just know we’re working on it, and we promise there’s a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes!!"

The new spot will not replace their existing Downtown Mystic location at 2 to 4 W. Main St. The existing shop is located at the Mystic River Bascule Bridge.

Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream features dozens of flavors along with frappes, shakes, coffee, espresso, and more.

The site at 47 Main St. is the former Old Mystic General Store. The building has been part of Old Mystic since 1790.
