StoneRidge Senor Living residents demonstrated unprecedented generosity in 2026 as their Employee Scholarship Fund surpassed $260,000, making it the most successful year in the program’s 14-year history. The record-setting effort will result in 30 scholarships for non-salaried StoneRidge employees (and their eligible children) who are pursuing educational and career advancement opportunities.
“The record-setting total far surpasses previous years and is believed to be among the highest amounts raised by senior living communities of comparable size anywhere in the country,” said Fred Ziegler, co-chair of the committee."We are fortunate to have some truly outstanding young people working at StoneRidge," he added."It is a real pleasure to be able to help them further their education and achieve their goals."
Ziegler co-chaired the Committee with fellow resident Sue Davis.
The success of the scholarship fund reflects the generosity and caring spirit that are hallmarks of the StoneRidge community. Residents consistently demonstrate their commitment to helping others, and their enthusiastic support of the scholarship fund is a prime example of that tradition.
The StoneRidge scholarship recipients were selected through a careful review process, conducted by a volunteer Scholarship Committee.Members evaluate each applicant’s background, accomplishments, educational goals and overall qualifications before determining awards.
Scholarship recipients are attending community colleges, four-year universities and professional studies, from as close as Three Rivers Community College in Norwich to as far away as Howard University in Washington, DC.Candidates are pursuing degrees in a wide range of fields, from nursing to electrical engineering.
