• Night Sky Programs Coming Up At Historic Stonington Site (patch.com) — Stonington residents can enjoy two fall night-sky programs at the Old Lighthouse Museum, connecting today's stargazers with the celestial navigation once used by local sailors. Presenters from Mystic Seaport Museum, Connecticut College and URI will explore navigation, constellation mythology, and light pollution, with limited-space, paid programs on September 10 and October 8.
• Connecticut lacrosse community honors sixth grader who died in school bus crash (fox61.com) — Residents in and around Stonington are honoring sixth grader Torren O'Grady, a Stonington Bears youth lacrosse player killed in a North Stonington school bus crash, by placing lacrosse sticks outside and leaving porch lights on. The tribute has spread across nearby towns and lacrosse programs, uniting families, teammates, and coaches in a visible show of support for his loved ones.
