Hurricane Sandy Updates From The First Selectman: Thursday November 1, 2012

I had several phone discussions with staff of CL&P Vice President Bill Quinlan, and expressed my frustration and concern. We went from five crews available to help us back down to one.

First, again I want to thank you for all the kind words and support online. It is very much appreciated. I apologize again for being unable to give you more timely updates as it was extremely busy.

I want to give you the latest update as of 6:30 p.m. on Hurricane Sandy.

As you know, I have been continually holding CL&P's feet to the fire concerning their response to this event. Today, I had several phone discussions with staff of CL&P Vice President Bill Quinlan, and expressed my frustration and concern. We went from five crews available to help us back down to one.

In the afternoon conference call I again reiterated with the CL&P Vice President & Governor the importance to relocate more crews in the state to the coast where the need is greatest and to continue to bring more outside crews as we enter the restoration phase. President Obama was also on this conference call sitting in to hear the activities going on.
