I love it when I open a fun email!
This seed bomb project from Pequot Plant Farm is perfect for this time of year and it's just what the doctor ordered for this dreary day!
I looks like a fun activity, perfect for kids or kids at heart ;)
Supplies:
1. Seeds of plants that need no coddling - (Cosmos, California Poppy, Black-Eyed Susans)
2. Potting soil (approximately 3/4 cup for each seed bomb.)
3. Biodegradable plastic bags cut into 6 inch squares.
Instructions:
1. In a medium size bowl, mix the seeds and the soil
together. Make sure that your soil is slightly damp.
2. Place a small handful of the mixture in the center of a bag, about the size of a golf ball.
3. Pull up the edges to form a pouch and twist the top making it into a tight ball so the "bomb" will explode when thrown. Tie with a thin strip of the bag.
Now, wait about a week for the seeds to begin to sprout inside the bomb. Find areas perfect for growing that could use some color and then...fire away!
Don't forget - the Pequot Plant Farm greenhouses are full of beautiful hanging baskets just waiting to be taken home to your Mom for Mother's Day!
