A great headshot is integral to a successful business image. It should communicate competency, professionalism and approachability.
Everyday I see advertisements with headshots that do the owner a disservice. They’d be better off NOT displaying a headshot versus a bad one. Not to pick on any one profession but…realtors seem to be the most publicized headshots I come across online and the majority of the images are weak or amateurish. Many look like they were taken with a cell phone. Really? I should take you seriously as a businessperson when you “wing it” with something as important as your image?
The irony here is realtors know how important image is to selling a property. If your house needs a paint job they’ll tell you. If the curb appeal of your home is poor the property won’t sell or, perhaps worse, will sell at a reduced price simply because it looks shabby.
A good photographer will discuss your target market and create an image that caters to your “buyer”. He’ll discuss what to wear and what style background to use for your business image. Each industry is different and needs to be considered.
