Mansfield officials pushed for a smaller project, and the new plan now includes 26 on‑site affordable and workforce units plus amenities like courts, trails, and a dog park.

Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro coming to Jorgensen (thechronicle.com) — Storrs residents can catch world-renowned ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro live at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. His nationwide tour stop will feature music from his latest recording, with tickets priced between $40 and $45 and available through Jorgensen's website.
3. Storrs Thrift Guide (dailycampus.com) — If you're in Storrs without much cash but still want fresh looks for class, games, or nights out, several nearby thrift options can help. From UConn's free Thrift Den on campus to Bliss Marketplace, Savers, and KAL Consignment a short drive away, students can find affordable, sustainable clothing close to home.

Penn State D Jackson Smith Receives Preseason Big Ten Recognition (nittanysportsnow.com) — Penn State hockey standout Jackson Smith has earned preseason All‑Big Ten recognition after a record‑setting freshman year, and his team will soon be skating into your backyard.
