$126 Million Stratford High School Renovation Inches Forward
Final design and approvals are still needed.

The proposed $126 million renovation of Stratford High School continues to slowly move forward, following a work session this week with members of the Town Council.
The Stratford Star reports that prior to the meeting, there were some concerns from council members who did not know the full scope of the project. Members of the Board of Education, Antinozzi Associates and CREC, who spoke at the hearing, helped assuage those concerns.
“This is first time I’ve sat down and seen it, seen the money, seen how the building was going to look, stuff like that,” said Councilman Philip Young, as reported by the Star.

The proposal calls for building a new wing on the high school, among other improvements. More than $70 million of the project’s cost is expected to come from the state, and Stratford would pay more than $50 million.
Construction could begin by the end of the calendar year.
