1st Flu Clinic Of Season Announced In Stratford
Health officials are encouraging residents to get their annual flu shot as the COVID-19 pandemic continues and colder weather approaches.
STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Health Department will host its first flu clinic of the season on Saturday, Sept. 25.
“As we enter into our second COVID-19 fall season, the Stratford Health Department is encouraging residents to receive their annual flu shot,” officials wrote in a news release.
The flu clinic will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Birdseye Municipal Complex Gymnasium at 468 Birdseye Street in Stratford.

“As the COVID-19 pandemic continues and colder weather approaches, it is important as ever to receive your annual flu shot,” said Bernice Bova, public health nurse for the Stratford Health Department. “We encourage everyone to get their annual flu shot to protect yourself, your families, and your community.”
Attendees are asked to complete required paperwork ahead of time and bring a photocopy of each recipient’s license (if applicable) and insurance card. There are no appointments needed for the flu clinic. All vaccines will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Stratford Health Department will offer the standard flu vaccine for ages 6 months to 18 years of age and the Flublok vaccine for those 18 years of age and above. Parents/guardians must accompany their children.
Insurances accepted for flu vaccines include Medicare Part B, Anthem BCBS, Connecticare, Husky, Aetna, and Cigna. United Healthcare and Oxford insurances are not accepted, according to officials. All others will be charged a $35 fee for the standard flu vaccine and $70 for the Flublok vaccine, payable by cash or check.
