22 Firefighters Needed To Extinguish Residential Fire In Stratford: FD
The Glenfield Avenue blaze was reported Thursday morning.
STRATFORD, CT — A detached garage at a home on Glenfield Avenue in Stratford caught fire Thursday morning, and 22 firefighters were required to douse the flames and protect surrounding structures from the blaze, according to Stratford fire officials.
No injuries were reported in the 10:30 a.m. fire, and crews from the Milford and Bridgeport fire departments were called to provide mutual aid coverage, because so many Stratford fire personnel were on-scene.

"The affected structure is a total loss and the Stratford building official was summoned to address structural integrity issues," Stratford fire officials wrote in a statement. "The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Stratford Fire Marshal’s office at this time."
Officials added, "The Stratford Fire department would like to remind our residents to have working smoke detectors, regularly practice an escape plan for residential homes, and call 911 immediately upon observation of smoke or fire."
