87-Year-Old Woman To Be Evicted From Stratford Home By Family
She must vacate her residence by April and may have to pay rent in the interim after her family said she has become a burden.
STRATFORD, CT — An 87-year-old woman will be evicted from her Stratford home, a judge has ordered, according to the Connecticut Post. Maria Michaels must vacate her Rosebrook Drive residence by April and may have to pay rent in the interim after her family said she has become a burden following an ankle injury, the Post reported.
Michaels has lived in the house more than 50 years, but sold it to her nephew and his wife in 1999 under the condition that Michaels would live there as long as she was not a burden, according to the Post. The nephew, Jan Hlinka, and his wife, Beata Hlinka, raised their four children in the home and filed papers about a year ago to evict Michaels, the Post reported.
