Frederick Thomas Cosgrove, 84, died June 12, 2026. A longtime grocer who worked for Grand Union and Whole Foods, he also coached Pop Warner football, recreation basketball and Little League baseball.
Barbara B. Burzynski, 87, died June 18, 2026. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Stratford High School and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft.
Richard James LaReau, 83, died June 25, 2026. An Air Force veteran who earned a degree from Sacred Heart University and worked in corporate communications, he was an avid reader, cook and gardener and a past Exalted Ruler of Milford Elks Lodge 1589.
Geraldine Cartiglia Gemza, 96, died June 26, 2026. A former director of human resources at Bridgeport Hospital who previously worked at Coulter and McKenzie Machine Company, she founded the hospital's Childport Daycare Center, later served on Stratford's Commission on Aging and volunteered as a literacy tutor for Bridgeport Public Schools, and enjoyed world travel, Cape Cod summers and weekly MahJong.
Stephen Pihonak III, 57, died June 26, 2026. A standout athlete in his youth and an avid sports fan, he followed baseball, soccer, UConn and the Dallas Cowboys and was known for his remarkable memory for sports statistics and music trivia.
The Honorable Edward Stodolink, 97, died July 2, 2026. An attorney and longtime Connecticut judge who served on the state circuit and Superior courts and later as a judge trial court referee, he was a Yale University and Columbia Law School graduate, an Army corporal, received the Bridgeport Bar Association's Career Service Award in 2021, and enjoyed golf and world travel.
