STRATFORD, CT — A group of Stratford residents recently won the 2026 American Poolplayers Association's World 8-Ball Championship in Las Vegas and took home a $30,000 prize.
The residents formed a team dubbed "Dave Hatch Bousquet," in memory of a fallen league member, and won the 2026 APA World 8-Ball Championship last month at the Westgate Las Vegas. Dave Hatch Bousquet was one of 833 teams to qualify for the championship.
Dave Hatch Bousquet took home $30,000 and ultimate bragging rights upon returning home to their local poolroom.
Team members include: Reynaldo Salgado, Jose Jarquin, Darwin Velis, Ellis Burwell, Luz Bonilla, Hector Segovia, Alex Martinez and Luis Granados.
The teammates are members of the American Poolplayers Association (APA) Pool League in Stratford where they play pool regularly.
The World 8-Ball Championship, held Aug. 4 – 9, was part of the APA's World Championships which featured nearly 15,000 total players and more than $1.3 Million in prize money.
