STRATFORD, CT — Stratford's fourth annual Veterans Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The town is inviting residents, families, and visitors to come together for the parade, which will be held rain or shine, according to a news release.
"The parade has become a treasured community tradition that pays tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces," officials wrote in the news release.
The parade will step off at 11 a.m. from Stratford Town Hall and proceed along Main Street to Academy Hill. Participants will include veterans, marching bands, including the Bunell/Stratford High School Marching Band, and the CT Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, color guards, honor guards, floats, and "other patriotic participants honoring our nation's military members," according to the news release.
"Spectators are encouraged to gather along the parade route and show their appreciation for the veterans who have defended our freedoms," officials wrote.
American flags will be handed out to young spectators.
"Our Veterans Parade is an opportunity for our community to come together to recognize the service and sacrifice of local veterans and express gratitude to those who have served," Mayor David Chess said. "We invite everyone to join us along Main Street to show our veterans all the love they deserve."
