Animal Control Officials Looking for a Resident to Have ‘Faith’
Friendly stray picked up last December now needs a home to continue progress toward full recovery.

Stratford Animal Control officers are looking for a good home for “Faith,” a stray dog who was picked by officers on December 6 and who has been undergoing care at a local animal hospital but now needs a home.
According to Stratford’s Lead Animal Control Officer Rachel Solveira, "Faith" is a stray dog who was found roaming the streets. “She was scared, emaciated and badly infected with mange,” Solveira said. “The mange was one of the worst cases the veterinarian had ever seen.”
However, through the generosity of many public and private donations to the Stratford Animal Rescue Society, "Faith," she reported, has been able to remain at a local animal hospital to undergo the medical care that she needs.

“Faith has made a recovery from the deeply infected mange condition and she has gained some weight but her recovery has gone as far as it can in a kennel environment,” Solveira said.
She also suffers from "Happy Tail," a condition where she wags her tail so hard against the kennel walls that it causes profuse bleeding.

Therefore, Faith requires a stress free "home" environment, without hard kennel concrete walls, to continue her recovery.
“She will require much ‘TLC’ including medicated baths, a special diet and nutritional supplements and the Stratford Animal Rescue Society is looking for a qualified adopter to work with us to complete the recovery process,” Solveira said.
She added, “Faith’s condition is not contagious to humans or other animals. However, without a home environment, this sweet and friendly dog will never recover.”
