Auto Detailing Business Opens In Stratford

FAIRFIELD, CT — When Danilo Mandu saw the storefront, he knew it was meant to be. Mandu recently moved his auto detailing shop from Fairfield to a Stratford space on Moffitt Street that came already painted in the signature red and black colors of his business, Detail Masters.

"This is just the beginning," said Mandu, who has big plans for the business.

Detail Masters opened in early November in the 3,500-square-foot space. After four years at 475 Kings Highway East in Fairfield, Mandu said he left because he wanted to expand. His new location at 255 Moffitt St., previously occupied by a different auto business, offers room to grow. Detail Masters has fully renovated the building's interior, which includes dedicated areas for wrapping and tinting, as well as coating.

In addition to those services, Detail Masters provides paint correction and protection, paintless dent removal and hand washing. All the detailing is done by hand and by appointment only.

Mayor Laura Hoydick said at a ribbon-cutting event held Nov. 8 for the shop that Detail Masters provides a service that complements the other auto businesses in town.

"It's a really unique business in the automobile industry," she said.

Mandu said his greatest passion is interacting with customers and building relationships with fellow car enthusiasts. He hopes to expand Detail Masters to neighboring towns in the future, but for now, he is glad to be part of the growing Moffitt Street corridor. Mandu and his family moved to Stratford three years ago.

"Stratford is our home now," he said. "... We're here for good."
