BREAKING: Stratford Teacher's Aide Charged with Sexually Assaulting a Student

Stratford police announced the arrest Tuesday afternoon.

STRATFORD, CT - Stratford police announced Tuesday an arrest of a female teacher’s aide who allegedly engaged in “inappropriate conduct” with a juvenile student.

Police said on Oct. 1 the Police Department was contacted regarding allegations of inappropriate conduct by an adult female and a juvenile victim.

“The report alleged the suspect was a teacher’s aide with the Stratford School District. This information was later confirmed,” police said in a release to the media.

As a result of the investigation police detectives arrested Kyle Damato-Kushel, 46, in connection with this investigation, police said.

This is the second similar type incident in the Stratford Public Schools this year.

Stratford Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson sent a termination letter in October to teacher, Michelle Sulzicki, 28, of Oxford, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy when she was tutoring him at his Stratford home.

Damato-Kushel turned herself into Stratford Police on Tuesday. She was released on a $50,000 court set bond. She is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on December 21.

Damato-Kushel was charged with second-degree sexual assault, illegal sexual contact with a minor, fourth-degree sexual assault where the victim is a student and tempering with a witness.
