Building Destroyed In Massive Fire In Stratford

Firefighters responded to the scene early Monday morning.

STRATFORD, CT — An industrial building was destroyed after a massive fire broke out early Monday morning on Research Drive in Stratford, according to multiple reports. Heavy smoke could be seen for miles as a result of the fire.

The Connecticut Post reports the fire occurred at 10 Research Drive, which houses the business Soundsphere, and about 30 people were evacuated from neighboring building at 2 Research Drive. Firefighters responded to the scene at about 6:30 a.m.

One person was working at the Soundsphere building at the time of the fire and made it out safely, according to the Stratford Star.

A fire official told the Star that the Soundsphere building will have to be razed because it is “a total loss.”

A supervisor at Soundsphere, which has called Stratford home since 1998, told the Post the business is “probably gone."
