Leading the way for the Bulldogs was the 4X100 relay team of Marquise Lawrence, Tyreek Smith, Alex Mosley, and Christ N’Dabian. They went on to finish in first place and in the process setting a new SWC meet record with a time of 42.75 seconds. That was four hundredths of a second better than last year’s record setting team of fellow Bulldog’s N’Dabian, with now graduates Ramsley Exantus, Elijah Henry, and Jonathan Cineus.

Both Exantus and Cineus were on hand today to witness the new record setting performance.

For N’Dabian and Lawrence they continued on in the 100 meter dash. N’Dabian and Masuk’s Conor Mahony traded steps right to the finish line with Mahony with the last burst of energy edging out N’Dabian for the top spot at 10.98 seconds. N’Dabian second at 11.03. Both these times broke the previous record set last year by Henry at 11.04.

Lawrence went on to finish sixth at 11.35 giving him and N’Dabian their second medals on the afternoon. Mosley was eighth at 11.46.

Records continued to be set in the 200 meter dash. Once again it was Mahony, N’Dabian, and add in Weston’s Baruch Goodman with the meet’s photo finish of the day. All three broke the previous record of 22.29 held by Henry set last year. Now race officials went to the still picture at the finish line. It was determined that Mahony crossed first at 22.15, N’Dabian second at 22.23, and Goodman at 22.26.

Over in the long jump event, Stephen Blake earned a medal with a jump of 20-11.50 feet taking a sixth place spot. Blake was followed by Smith who had a 20-4.75 leap.

Bunnell’s final medals on the day came in the 4x400 meter where Mosley, Lawrence, Jonathan Gulish, and N’Dabian raced out to a fourth place finish with a time of 3:34.07 seconds.

With the first place finish the Bunnell 4X100 relay team was named to the SWC All Conference Team.

Up Next for the Bulldogs, Wednesday May 29th, the Connecticut Interscholastic Conference Class MM Championships at Middletown High School.
