Bunnell Bounces Cross, Advances to Class L Semifinals
Bulldogs reach semifinals for third straight year.

For the second year in a row, the Bunnell boys’ basketball team bounced Wilbur Cross from the Class L state tournament and the Bulldogs are heading to their third straight semifinal.
Ryan Pittman scored a game-high 22 points and Rashaad Spain added 20 to lead No. 5 Bunnell to an 81-70 quarterfinal victory over the 20th-seeded Governors.
Bunnell will play the winner of the South Windsor/Bassick quarterfinal on Thursday for the right to play at Mohegan Sun for the state championship.

“We’re taking it game by game,” Pittman told Dave Phillips of GameTimeCT.com. “We’re not looking forward to Mohegan like we did the last two years.”
