Bunnell Boys' Basketball Heading to Mohegan Sun for State Championship Game

The Bunnell Bulldogs are heading to the Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday for their first state championship game and they want you there to cheer them on.

Bunnell (23-4), which lost in the semifinals the last two seasons will take on seventh-seeded Naugatuck in the Class L final Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mohegan Sun.

All tickets (students/adults/senior citizens) are $10. The CIAC and Mohegan Sun are strongly urging fans attending the game to purchase their tickets ahead of time online to avoid the long lines that are expected at the box office. There are no service fees or charges when purchasing tickets online. Buy tickets here (and don’t forget to print them out!).

The fifth-seeded Bulldogs advanced to the title game with a thrilling 80-79 overtime victory over No. 9 Bassick Thursday night in Trumbull.

Senior co-captain Ryan Pittman scored Bunnell’s last five points of the game at the free-throw line and finished with 17 points.

Donte Peeler had 19 points and 13 rebounds before fouling out with 1 minute, 31 seconds to go in overtime. Pat Gough added 16 points.

Bassick’s Curhone Baldwin scored a game-high 37 points.
