Bunnell Football Coach to Miss Friday's Game, Placed on Administrative Leave

Doug Cotto reportedly suspended due to allegations he made "inappropriate comments" to one of his players.

The Bunnell football team is expected to play at least Friday night’s game without coach Doug Cotto, who reportedly has been placed on administrative leave while the Stratford school district investigates allegations that he made “inappropriate comments” to one of his players.

News 12 reports that Stratford Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson confirmed the decision after she heard of the allegations and followed procedure by putting him on leave.

Bunnell Athletic Director Dave Johnson declined to comment to the Connecticut Post but assistant football coach Mike Silva indicated to the Post’s Doug Bonjour that the staff is preparing to assume Cotto’s duties for Friday night’s game at New Milford.
