Bunnell's Exantus Recognized for Banner Year

Ruvens Exantus has been named the New Haven Register's All-Area Boys' Track MVP.

Bunnell’s Ruvens Exantus has been honored as the New Haven Register’s All-Area Boys’ Track MVP for the 2015 season.

Exantus led the Bulldogs to a second-place finish at the SWC Championships and he also won Class MM and State Open titles in the triple jump. Exantus also placed second in the triple jump at the New England Championship meet.

Exantus, who is also a member of the Bunnell marching band and captain of the drumline, will attend Southern Connecticut State University in the fall and continue his track career.

Exantus is regarded as one of the best technical track athletes in the state and told Mary Albl of the New Haven Register that he excelled because “because I was able to translate normal sprinting speed to runway speed and hurdle speed quite efficiently without really losing running form.”
