Child, 5, Dies After Drowning In Pool In Stratford: Police

STRATFORD, CT — A 5-year-old child has died after drowning in a pool earlier this week, according to police. The drowning occurred July 2 in a pool located in the backyard of the family’s residence on Sunnybank Avenue, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti.

Eannotti said police performed CPR on the child who was turned over to responding EMS personnel and taken to a local hospital. The child died on July 3.

No further information was provided.
