Company Cutting 190 Jobs With Closures In Stratford, Torrington

The company will move most of the work done at the two Connecticut plants to Mexico.

STRATFORD, CT — An Illinois packaging company is cutting a combined 190 jobs by closing factories in Stratford and Torrington, according to the Connecticut Post.

AptarGroup Inc. announced in a February news release that it would shutter the sites by the end of the year at a cost of about $20 million. The company will move most of the work done at the two Connecticut plants to Mexico, eliminating 100 jobs in Stratford and 90 in Torrington, the Post reported.

Aptar’s Stratford facility is located in the 100 block of Access Road near Sikorsky Memorial Airport. Its Torrington location is in the 300 block of Ella Grasso Avenue.
