It is planned that California Street will be closed to through traffic beginning Oct. 4 as construction progresses from California Street across West Broad Street. The work will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. After the water company is finished it will be followed by Southern Connecticut Gas, starting the week of Oct. 14.
During the utility work at the intersection, Linden Avenue will be open to through traffic in both directions.
It is recommended that alternate routes are found to avoid this intersection, especially during peak traffic hours.
The public is reminded that local businesses are open and access to all business is being maintained.
This advisory is in effect through the summer of 2020 but will be updated as construction progresses.
