Coronavirus Stratford: Salerno's Offering Grab-And-Go Meals
'We want you to stay home. We want you to eat safely,' the Stratford-based restaurant said on Facebook.
STRATFORD, CT — Stratford-based Salerno's announced Sunday it will offer an express takeout window for customers as the new coronavirus spreads.
As of Monday, customers can call ahead and pick up their food without entering the restaurant, Salerno's said in a Facebook post. In addition to pizza, the eatery is preparing grab-and-go meals that are fully cooked and can be reheated, such as lasagna, baked penne and chicken parmesan, plus quarts of pasta sauce.
"We want you to stay home. We want you to eat safely," the business said on Facebook.

Monday morning the governors of Connecticut, New York and New Jersey announced that restaurants, bars and other businesses would close 8 p.m. that evening until further notice, but that restaurants could stay open for takeout and delivery. As of Monday, 41 people in Connecticut had tested positive for the new coronavirus.
Not all Stratford restaurants will be able to serve customers during the forced closure. Blue Sky Diner of Stratford said Monday in a Facebook post it is not equipped to offer takeout or delivery, and would be shutting down indefinitely.
