Fire Extinguished At Shopping Plaza In Stratford
Crews responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a fire at The Dock Shopping Plaza, according to officials.
STRATFORD, CT — A fire was extinguished at Dollar Tree in Stratford on Friday afternoon, according to officials.
Crews responded around 12:45 p.m. on March 20 to multiple 911 calls reporting smoke and fire from the structure at 955 Ferry Boulevard in Stratford, according to a news release from Fire Chief Jermaine B. Atkinson.
“Upon arrival to the scene fire crews immediately conducted searches of the occupancy while simultaneously performing fire suppression to locate and extinguish source of the fire,” according to the news release. “The sprinkler system was activated which also assisted in limiting the spread of fire.

“The fire was brought under control in approximately 35 minutes with no damage or extension to the adjacent structures.”
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Stratford Fire Marshal’s office. The Bridgeport and Milford Fire Departments provided station coverage during the incident. Stratford EMS was also called to the scene for incident support, according to officials.

“The Stratford Fire department would like to remind our residents to have working smoke detectors, regularly practice an escape plan for residential homes, evacuate occupancies with alarms sounding and call 911 immediately upon observation of smoke or fire,” officials wrote.
