CT Manufacturing Day Trade Show, Job Fair and Maker Faire on Oct. 7

Welcoming job seekers! Learn about well-paid, in-demand manufacturing positions & celebrating the past, present & future of CT manufacturing

Friday, October 7, 2022, is National Manufacturing Day, and Connecticut is celebrating makers large and small with an exciting, free event open to all those pursuing careers in modern manufacturing.

Come to Connecticut Manufacturing Day at Housatonic Community College (HCC) from 11am – 3pm to meet innovative manufacturing employers, learn about advanced manufacturing careers, peruse a MakerFaire®, and explore HCC’s inspiring on-campus manufacturing facility. Refreshments will be provided, including a pizza truck lunch.

Manufacturers are struggling to fill high-paying, high-tech jobs as the industry expands. By 2025 it is estimated that U.S. manufacturers will have 2 million jobs available due to a skills gap.

“We’re actively seeking new professionals to come and join the team,” said Nicole Russo, CEO, Microboard, a manufacturing company participating in the event.

Tours of HCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center will be offered. The program places graduates in the Aerospace, Submarine, and Biomedical Technology fields, to name a few. “Almost every student that comes through our program will land a job,” said HCC Professor Adam Scobie.
