December Events at the Stratford Library

Carolers, swing bands, chamber music, and DIY workshops to brighten up the holidays

The Stratford Library will present a series of holiday music, film, and workshop events during the month of December. All are held in the newly renovated Lovell Room and are free and open to the public.

Sunday, December 7 @ 2:00 pm:


Connecticut Yuletide Carolers. Traditionally garbed Victorian Carolers will bring the bright sounds of the holiday season to this special Library event. Light refreshments served. Sponsored by the Friends of Square One Theatre Company.

Monday, December 8 @ Noon:


Monday Matinees: Jersey Boys. Monthly film series of free showings of recent, popular films finishes the year with Clint Eastwood’s take on the Broadway musical smash about the origins of the iconic 1960s rock group, The Four Seasons. Rated R.

Sunday, December 14 @ 2:00 pm:


Concert: Survivors Swing Band. Connecticut-based jazz band playing the classic tunes of the Swing Era will include holiday music for today’s concert. Sponsored by the Vin Corda fund.

Monday, December 15 @ 1:00 pm:


Lifelong Learners Holiday Concert. The Baldwin Center Chamber Players perform their annual concert featuring seasonal music from a variety of time periods.

Saturday, December 20 @ 2:00-4:00 pm:


DIY: Holiday Gift-Wrapping. Patrons are invited to bring their gifts and a roll (or two) of wrapping paper to share and spend the afternoon with friends listening to holiday music, munching on treats and wrapping gifts! Experts will demonstrate some fun Do-It-Yourself wrapping ideas to make gifts extra-special. Registration is required.
