Dog Found In ‘Heartbreaking Condition’ In Stratford, Officials Say
A nonprofit organization is raising funds for a dog that was found in "heartbreaking condition" while roaming in Stratford.
STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Animal Rescue Society is raising funds for a dog that the nonprofit organization says was found in “heartbreaking condition.”
The organization is asking for donations for Wiley, a German Shepherd who was recently found roaming near Roosevelt Forest in Stratford.
According to a post on the Stratford Animal Rescue Society’s Facebook page, Wiley was severely emaciated when he was found, and his condition included: “Missing one leg; Infested with parasites; Significant hair loss throughout his body; Areas of exposed and irritated skin; In need of veterinary treatment and nutritional support.”

“Wiley is just one of the many animals STARS is currently helping,” the post reads. “Even with rescue discounts, veterinary care is expensive, and the number of animals needing treatment continues to stretch our resources.
“Every donation helps us continue providing veterinary care to animals like Wiley.”
