Doug Cotto Confirms to Media Outlets that He's No Longer Bunnell's Football Coach

Cotto was placed on administrative leave for allegedly making "inappropriate comments" to one of his players.

Doug Cotto confirmed Wednesday he is no longer the coach of the Bunnell football team, according to multiple reports.

Cotto, who was placed on administrative leave for allegations that he made “inappropriate comments” to one of his players, said in a text message to Doug Bonjour of the Connecticut Post, “No longer coaching. No other comment.”

The New Haven Register reported that according to several of their sources Cotto’s alleged comments were of a sexual nature. Another source told Bonjour that “The kind of words that they used you say to your best friend fooling around, but not to a kid.”
