Ex-Cop Accused Of Burglarizing Restaurant In Stratford: Report
A former Glastonbury police officer has been arrested in connection with a burglary in Stratford.
STRATFORD, CT — A former Glastonbury police officer is accused of burglarizing a restaurant in Stratford, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports Patrick Hemingway, 37, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the April 20 burglary of Biagio Osteria, an Italian restaurant at 88 Ryders Lane in Stratford.
Hemingway is accused of stealing $500 from two cash registers inside the restaurant, according to the Post.

Hemingway is already suspected of participating in several burglaries in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, according to police.
The Glastonbury Police Department recently released a statement indicating those on the job are feeling "embarrassed" and "betrayed" by the criminal charges levied against Hemingway.

“We acknowledge the recent arrests of Mr. Hemingway and are aware that there may be additional arrests pending,” police wrote in the statement. “The Glastonbury police staff feels a mix of embarrassment and anger, as it is disheartening to see someone who once wore our patch and worked alongside us blatantly betray the public's trust.
“Our officers have sworn an oath to safeguard and serve the Glastonbury community. Through years of unwavering dedication, they have diligently upheld this commitment, fostering positive and collaborative relationships.
“Mr. Hemingway's actions stand in stark contrast to the bravery, dedication, and hard work exhibited by the men and women of the Glastonbury Police Department.”
