FedEx Driver Steals Packages from UPS: Stratford Police

The man is accused of taking packages that contained items valued at about $4,200, according to police.

Stratford, CT — A FedEx employee is accused of stealing packages from UPS that contained items valued at about $4,200, according to police.

Alexander Perez, 40, of Waterbury, turned himself in to Stratford police on an outstanding arrest warrant on July 5.

Perez is accused of taking several boxes that were intended for FedEx customers that had been accidentally dropped off at UPS, according to Lt. Frank Eannotti.

Eannotti said that rather than deliver the boxes to the customers, Perez removed the items from the boxes and discarded the shipping containers.

The boxes contained display screens for computers and GPS units that were valued at approximately $4,200.

Eannotti said the theft occurred on May 4.

Perez was charged with third-degree larceny and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on July 15.
