Fire Chief Brian Lampart is retiring after nearly 35 years of service to Stratford, Mayor Laura Hoydick announced.
STRATFORD, CT — Stratford Fire Chief Brian Lampart has announced that he will retire effective July 1, according to Mayor Laura R. Hoydick.
Lampart was appointed fire chief by Hoydick on Jan. 28, 2020. Before that, he served 32 years in the Stratford Fire Department, beginning as a firefighter at the age of 19. He served as deputy fire marshal for 11 years, then fire marshal for nine years before being named interim chief, then chief of the Stratford Fire Department.
“Brian Lampart has served our town for over 34 years with great skill and knowledge, and he has been at the front lines protecting Stratford residents and managing difficult emergency events during his remarkable career,” Hoydick said in a statement. “As Chief, he has done a tremendous job leading our great Fire Department personnel, and I am sorry to see him leave this post he has performed so well in. However, I understand his desire to retire and spend more time with his wonderful family that have always sacrificed along with him as Brian worked to protect our community. Our entire team wishes him the very best in his retirement, and he leaves with the thanks of a grateful community.”
