Firefighters Injured in ‘Fast-Moving’ Fire That Heavily Damaged Stratford Home
The fire occurred late Wednesday night and officials are actively investigating the cause of the fire.

STRATFORD, CT — Two Stratford firefighters were injured while battling a “fast-moving” fire late Wednesday night that left a Huntington Road home uninhabitable, according to fire officials.
Firefighters responded to the home, located at 472 Huntington Road, at about 10:15 p.m. and arrived to find a large volume of fire working its way through the first floor of the two-story, single family home, according to Stratford Deputy Chief / Fire Marshal Brian Lampart.
“Under the command of Assistant Chief Camperlengo, firefighters were able to contain the fast-moving fire to the first floor of the structure, however, extensive fire damage was made to four rooms at this level and damaging smoke / heat throughout the remainder making this home uninhabitable,” Lampart said in a press release. “A lieutenant and one firefighter were overcome by the fast-moving fire as they entered the front door causing minor injuries that resulted in them being transported to a local hospital. Both the lieutenant and firefighter were released later in the evening after being treated.”
