The Great Pumpkin Festival Returns To Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — The popular Great Pumpkin Festival returns to Stratford next weekend, town officials and the Boothe Memorial Park Commission announced.

The Great Pumpkin Festival, sponsored by Bridgeport Fittings, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. The popular festival will take place on Stratford’s historic Boothe Memorial Park at 5800 Main Street.

“This celebration of autumn and Halloween will include a traditional costume parade and contest, a pumpkin carving contest and a magic show,” officials wrote in a news release. “The many historic and unique buildings on the Boothe park property will be open to the public. A variety of community organizations will be on hand offering treats. The Griffin Hospital COVID-19 vaccination van will be on hand, thanks to the Stratford Health Department.”

Jim Connor, Boothe Park Commission Chairman said, “The Great Pumpkin Festival is a wonderful event that has serviced Stratford for years. I am honored to chair the Boothe Park Commission, to help produce this event. I encourage everyone to bring their friends and families on October 16th. Social distancing protocols will be in place. Let’s have a great day!”
